EPA Messing With Texas [We're all Texans.. and Catholics now]
The American Thinker ^ | February 10, 2012 | Phil Hoppman, President of Big D Metalworks and spokesman for Halt The Assault

Here in Texas we produce a variety of products and services, notably energy, agricultural, and technology related, but also across many sectors (including my own construction industry). We also create and produce jobs. In fact, we do it as well if not better than any other state.

Part of the right formula for job creation here in Texas has been lower taxes and less regulations. We have no state income tax and our legislature meets infrequently, denying them opportunity to do much meddling. These simple principles has led many companies to set up in this State, and in return many job seekers fleeing their over regulated states to seek out some economic freedom.

But not content to just let job creators do our specialty and bring the economy back, the Federal government seems hellbent on putting the regulatory hurt not only nationwide, but especially here in Texas.

A new report issued this week by the TexasPublicPolicy Foundation details the looming job killers the Feds have in store for businesses everywhere. The report, titled The EPA's Approaching Regulatory Avalanche, finds that specifically there are ten new rules currently in the pipeline from the EPA alone that could potentially cost the U.S. economy hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of jobs. Further, they are calling it "A Regulatory Spree Unprecedented in U.S. History."

The Foundation states that:

"The 10 rules highlighted in the report cover topics from cross-state air pollution to control technologies for industrial boilers and Portland cement kilns, from ambient air quality standards for ozone and particular matter to greenhouse gas regulation for both stationary and mobile sources. All have effective dates between 2013 and 2016, with the highest impacts in 2015."

EPA is just part of the problem. The National Labor Relations Board...

Last week, almost six months after the horrific Bastrop, TX wildfire that burned over 1600 homes, the EPA announced that all debris removal had to be supervised by EPA-approved biologists because such removal might impinge on the habitat of the endangered Houston toad.

Contractors rebuilding homes are having their progress impeded by idiotic rules such as having to pick up all materials at the end of every day for fear that the toad might crawl into them during the night and be injured. Needless to say, homeowners are furious that after all they’ve been through, the federal government seems much more worried about the toad than their families.

There are no examples of live Houston toads, if they’ve ever existed, after a fire that left homes with nothing but ashes on a slab. Someone reports they heard some “chorusing” after recent rains, however, one suspects it might have been reported by one of the FOUR approved biologists who will be getting paychecks for years while hundreds of homeowners wait for EPA approval to rebuild their homes on their land,

If Texans put up with this mistreatment, Davy Crocket and William Travis died for nothing. This is not a free country.

Your post of local experience with the EPA is typical of that which needs to be known across the entire country by every American.

The MSM isn’t on the side of the people of this Nation, therefore such stories are relegated to first hand experiences posted on the New Media at as many of the well read sources as possible so the message gets out what is really happening at the hands of these radical Leftist lunatics in control today.

Sounds like those four biologists need to be reeducated and see the light that the EPA needs to go.

Gee what a job opportunity..become a government toad counter. Standing in the rain listening for toad “choruses” might be a better job than rummaging through people’s dirty underwear and patting down little old ladies and kids working for the TSA. I bet toad counters can get six figure salaries for their vital work.

While they worry about this toad they will destroy a whole desert to put in solar panels.

The effects of the EPA have a direct bearing on the targets of Bracko Bama.

It's part of BH's green jobs for bundlers - the Shi+cago Chicom way. Like his buddies say - power at the barrel of a gun. In this case, they use czars with mandates wrapped in an illegitimate veil of law.
