Obviously the people behind this find decadence delightful—a commentary on the level of intelligence on which they operate.

This is strictly on the NFL and NBC. You don’t hire thug rappers and expect them not to revert to type.

Although the NFL foots the bill to produce the halftime show, the league does not pay performers, since the massive exposure is enough reward. This is why they keep getting bad acts.

It doesn’t take rocket science...
Just write into all participants’ contracts that, if they make any gesture that is considered obscene [list them and describe, so there is no doubt] or expose themselves, etc., they will be fined an amount equal of half of the contract value, said sums to be used to pay for legal services and actions related to damage control.
Hit’em heavily in the pocketbook. That will put a stop to it.

Next year, the Super Bowl half time show will be seen through a 7 second tape delay...

When you hire professionals, you don't get foul-ups. Professionals actually REHEARSE.
People arrive at sports arenas every day in this country, and sing the national anthem flawlessly, night after night.

Do away with the 1/2 time show all together. If you must, go back to marching bands and flag displays. We don’t need so called “artists” lip sinking their songs, grabbing their crotches, flashing their breast, humping the air, or flipping us the bird.

I missed the halftime show and I’m happy I did; I just don’t watch them anymore because the performers/networks are just doing their best to push the edges of the shock envelope. Better to make a beer run or sandwich run or even change over the laundry.

I find it repulsive that the only halftime show shown on national TV is the Super Bowl. Of course halftime shows in the NFL regular season are pretty much non existent, but colleges go all out for halftime, while we at home only get to see the motor mouth commentators and endless commercial messages.
