Well I have never been a Santorum fan ,but I have said for months that the guy could end up being sleeper in this race.

I still think Perry is more conservative, but things are what they are.

I Think if I had to make a choice between Newt and Santorum I would pick Newt.
As Perry said, “he has a better understanding of the shark tank that is Washington”

“Santorum....could end up being sleeper in this race.”

Yes, he could!

Other than Palin, I haven’t had a dog in the race. I feared Palin was conflicted between being a mama-grizzly to her country or her family. Increasing I thought she would choose her family, and she did. There was much I liked about Cain, but he withered under the heat. I regret that Perry left the race too early.

I am still conflicted.

On the one hand, I agree with you and JR. On the other hand, in the last couple weeks, I have begun to think that Newt can’t overcome his negatives to get the nomination, and may not deliver on what he promises even if he wins the presidency.

On the one hand, I still want Newt in the race because he gets what needs to be said out in the open (nails the MSM, nails Obama, wins hands-down on the “big picture” debate).

On the other hand, I wonder if it would be better that Newt dropped out and worked with Santorum (because Newt despises Romney). I think Santorum has under-promised and over-delivered. More than any of the candidates, I trust him more to have the skills and the final will to do what he says he will do if elected president.

Anyway we look at it, Newt, Santorum, Paul, and Romney are going into Super-Tuesday. I want to give them each their due respect.

At this point I won’t trash any of them (not even Romney-—I take that back; I will trash Romney on these 2 points: He is the GOP elite’s choice to eviscerate the Tea Party, and although he vows to repeal ObamaCare, what he intends to do is shove ObamaCare as a state mandate, rather than a federal mandate). Unlike Newt and Santorum, Romney doesn’t have experience in Washington, he doesn’t truly understand the peril, and he will cave to get along to make meager increments of “success.”

I will DEFEND any attack against either Newt or Santorum, when I can source-document a logical rebuttle against the attack.
