Gingrich was wonderful! Real ideas, and to a very detailed level.

He mentioned expensing equipment in one year, which is brilliant. I have a very tiny business and a few years ago (under Bush, I believe) I stopped being able to expense my computer and software purchases and actually had to depreciate business software for which I had spent under $100.

Needless to say, I stopped even reporting these deductions and simply paid the maximum tax. So I guess that was the point all along...

Actually, his wife placed some cards on the podium, but all good speakers use cards to keep the presentation orderly.

My only gripe with his speech was when he promised to push a bill through congress to remove Bernanke. Newt knows that bills of attainder are forbidden in the constitution.

Otherwise he was right on the mark.
