Did no expect anything different from the worlds greatest liar.

The only thing that will keep a person sane is to remember “When mac daddies lips are moving he is lying”

Just used the Catholic League website to send a note to Donahue. I think it’s crashed.

My prediction for the politics here:

The President tried to compromise, but these conservatives and religious zealots will not budge from their unreasonable positions.

OK my bad, started in Greece then migrated to Rome.

Here is a quote of one of their early detractors, they (the Cynics) were called dogs:

“There are four reasons why the Cynics are so named. First because of the indifference of their way of life, for they make a cult of indifference and, like dogs, eat and make love in public, go barefoot, and sleep in tubs and at crossroads. The second reason is that the dog is a shameless animal, and they make a cult of shamelessness, not as being beneath modesty, but as superior to it. The third reason is that the dog is a good guard, and they guard the tenets of their philosophy. The fourth reason is that the dog is a discriminating animal which can distinguish between its friends and enemies. So do they recognize as friends those who are suited to philosophy, and receive them kindly, while those unfitted they drive away, like dogs, by barking at them.”

Here are the four basic principles of Cynicism:

1. The goal of life is happiness which is to live in agreement with Nature.

2. Happiness depends on being self-sufficient, and a master of mental attitude.

3. Self-sufficiency is achieved by living a life of Arete.
The road to arete is to free oneself from any influence such as wealth, fame, or power, which have no value in Nature.

4. Suffering is caused by false judgments of value, which cause negative emotions and a vicious character.

So basically Solomon was right, there is nothing new under the Sun. OWS, Obama, Democrats et al. are merely a retread of this old, busted, mentally retarded philosophy that has been tried, debunked and broken over and over again throughout history.

It’s all about God’s way vs. our way. It’s always been about that, it always will be about that.

I don’t think that Catholics will buy into that as long as their premiums don’t go up it is ok for the insurance company they are doing business with allows their subsidized employees to get abortion services.

Two problems with this argument: 1) who pays for the insurance? and 2) some of the insurers are catholic.

Here’s another gem:

None of this meant that the Cynic would retreat from society. Cynics would in fact live in the full glare of the public’s gaze and would be quite indifferent in the face of any insults which might result from their unconventional behaviour.[9] The Cynics are said to have invented the idea of cosmopolitanism: when he was asked where he came from, Diogenes replied that he was “a citizen of the world, (kosmopolitês).”[16]

How can he and his team justify these moves politically.

Apparently they believe that the benefits of handing all women of childbearing age something for FREE outweigh those of cheesing-off the single largest Christian denomination.

I think they're wrong, but that appears to be where they are coming from.

Steve Doocy on "Fox & Friends" this morning (during the discussion with Peter Johnson Jr.) pointed out that lefty blogs were talking about this last summer as an issue that would be good for energizing the base.

Obama probably figures that the net result of the controversy will be to drive up his support among women more than he loses among Catholics.

It could also be a calculation that this will improve Rick Santorum's chances to become the Republican nominee, on the theory that he would be easier to beat than Romney or Gingrich. But this ruling came out weeks ago when Santorum was not getting much attention (there were then more than 4 candidates).

And two elements to this. The moral one, which is an insurer forced to pay for an immoral act.

And the constitutional one, the mere fact of a president ruling by decree. That is Chavism.

He can’t, but Congress allows Departments to write rules and regulations.

While not an expert, this was no different than making people buy insurance (obamacare), but the Congress does not fully monitor or control these actions.

So someone has to sue (at their expense) to stop an out of control President.

It is obviously not constitutional, but by the time the court acts, he will be out of office and the damage has been done.
