Health Insurance used to be needed because one needs to be able to pay for something serious and catastrophic that happens in your life.

Now we have contraceptions... Next, Viagra and Levitra will be considered ‘needs’, mark my words.

Is it any wonder insurance costs don’t go down?

Because, maybe the above mentioned products tend to, how shall we say, keep it up?

What inefficiency, covering basic medications. I know, I know, it’s all about prevention - give people something for “free” so they won’t get sick later and run up more costs.

We have a plan that doesn’t cover prescriptions - still manage to pay for them out of pocket, and take them even though we have to pay for them. Of course we’d be totally screwed if one of us had cancer or some disease that needed really expensive drugs - but that is what insurance should be for.
