An Honor Beating in Arizona? Iraqi Woman; Iraqi Woman Beats & Ties Daughter to Bed
The Blaze ^ | 2/11/12 | Tiffany Gabbay

Posted on 02/11/2012 5:04:03 AM PST by Ernie Kaputnik

An Iraqi woman living in Phoenix has been arrested after admitting to beating her daughter and shackling the 19-year-old to a bed as punishment for speaking with a man. After the mother admitted to the crime and explained the catalyst was her “Iraqi culture,“ all elements bear the markings of an ”honor beating.”

Farhan resisted arrest and called out to other family members present to help her fight off police, according to court paperwork. Those family members also jumped into the fray and had to be restrained in the hospital’s emergency area, according to police.

These people are nothing more than barefoot, mud-hut, dirt-floor dwelling, trash.

Why do we continue to let them into this country? Don't we have enough problems already with 20 million Mexican scumbags and their unholy spawn.

They should all be deported back to their "Culture."

Except for the 19 year old daughter, I have a spare room here.

I am surprised mom didn’t slit her throat. That’s probably for the menfolk.

Deport them if they cannot live by our standards.

This is part of the sticky situation that comes from allowing absolute freedom of religion. Without adding a clause that such freedom cannot be extended to hurting others (thinking honor killings, beatings, sharia law, chopping off of body parts, etc.), we are opening ourselves up to untold horrors in the name of religion.

I’m all for allowing our people to exercise our first amendment rights, to worship as they wish, as long as it does not include forcing others to abide by whatever misguided perversions that will be used to sanction hurting, killing and the like in the name of any religion.

I fear that the outcry now will either unleash an anti-religion in any form on one extreme side, with the other far side allowing hurting, maiming, murdering, and honor killings in the name of religion. We have to make sure that we retain our freedom to worship, but not at the expense of others and their rights. Nobody’s religious rights can include harming or killing of anybody else. Parents may have the right to discipline their children, but what the woman in the above article did falls under the heading of harming, and, I can imagine, kidnapping as her daughter was held against her wishes and beaten. Heck, the young woman is considered an adult in this country and had the right to make her choices. Granted, the article describes this whole mess as a cultural thing, something Iraqi in nature, but I’m rather certain that there is an element of religion at work here.

I guess this comes down to me being utterly sick of the tyranny of the minority. Our ancestors came to this country in search of freedom, some for religious freedom, some for a chance to better themselves financially. We can’t allow any minority to force the rest of us to give up our freedoms just so that they can practice their religion.

"Deport them if they cannot live by our standards."

How many liberals will it take to convince you that that would be IMPOSSIBLE.

Seems like a relatively simple distinction. Freedom of worship does not imply freedom to commit assault and battery or murder. And American society reserves the right to immediately expel any resident alien who commits a felony while enjoying our hospitality back to whatever Hell hole spawned him (or her). If they have already obtained naturalized status that could be revoked leaving us back at expulsion. I know that’s too logical for a Liberal bureaucrat or judge to fathom but I’ve always found simple solutions are usually the best.

Mother to daughter: May I beat you?

Daughter: I would be "honored".

“This is part of the sticky situation that comes from allowing absolute freedom of religion. Without adding a clause that such freedom cannot be extended to hurting others...”

Once upon the time this was an unspoken truth, it didn’t need to be written down. No one would have dared to claim assault or murder is part of their religion and that they have a right to practice such as religious ritual because the other laws as well as the unspoken truth was enough to punish or prevent such behavior.

I am immune to the opinions of liberals. LOL Before I hit POST on that comment, I thought I’d probably get attacked that our standards are not so high. Little did I think that the attack would be from someone who would profess that liberals wouldn’t agree with me.

Marty, whether you can make the distinction in your mind, others do it all the time ~ assault and battery with intent to murder is a prohibited crime.

The law doesn't particularly care one way or the other what your intention is.

It’s these incidents that will lead to Sharia Law being “acceptible”. The average video game playing, American Idol watching, Big Mac scarfing American will have no problem with it.

File charges on all of ‘em. Even the mosque and imam. Right down to every last member of the group for promoting the assualt. Find something to charge them with and make them fight it. Convictions don’t matter just put the fear of cops in them until they deport themselves back to their sandbox. Make mama do some hard time and daddy pay a fine that leaves him eating hotdogs.

So true. Not that they have any values. They need to be kicked back to their 7th century homeland on the first boat out.

Yours is one of the most frightening posts I’ve ever read on FR. Next, are you going to dictate the size of church confessionals or revise the procedures for circumcision?

I completely agree that the law has distinctions, but people make the law, revise the law, change the law. Heck, some of our judges disregard the law based on their own biases. I just want it in writing that the free practice of religion does not override the law. The trouble is that Obama’s laws are currently overriding the free practice of Catholicism. While I’m not a catholic, I get where they are coming from and their objections are being heard. What will prohibit the raised voices of other religions from being heard when they are being charged for doing what they consider the free practice of their religions, when, for example, honor killings are ignored because they are religiously based?

Other than the fact muslime is a death cult, not a religion, you have a good post.
