Attorney General hailed by conservative crowd
Virginia attorney general Ken Cuccinelli was awarded the Defender of the Constitution award Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington D.C.
Presenting the award, David Keene, President of the National Rifle Associate said Cuccinelli is a champion of conservative values and his view that he is healthily suspicious of government in all circumstances embodies the movement to cheers from the large conservative crowd.
The first duty I am obliged to pursue is the defense of the U.S. and Virginia Constitution, Cuccinelli said. He said many politicians just said the oath so they could take office forgetting what the words actually meant and ignoring their duties and obligations.
Cuccinelli expounded on federalism and gave his suit against the Obamas health care act known as ObamaCare and told the story of how on the same day and the same street that Patrick Henry gave his famous Liberty or Death speech.
That suit is not about health care, said Cuccinelli, It is about liberty.

I predict he’ll be our next governor. If he does good there, maybe he can get up a head of steam and unseat Senator Warner(everybody seems to just love him for some reason).
Hopefully he can secure enough base/funds to support him as I am sure the McDonnell/Bolling/Romney “insider” faction of the VA GOP will do everything they can to undermine Ken; just as VA GOP elites did to Ollie North when he ran for the U.S. Senate.
“If he does good there, maybe he can get up a head of steam and unseat Senator Warner”
...somebody needs to unseat old horse face Warner.
How would you feel about him being the AG? He has a promising career, but that would take him away from Virginia.
Forget that. I think he should be selected as our nominee at the brokered convention!!!
