Stunning Pictures Of The Disaster Zone In Greece
Business Insider ^ | February 13,2012 | Simone Foxman

Protests got out of control Sunday and Monday as Greek lawmakers voted on a new round of grossly unpopular austerity measures.

But even as leaders make new promises to curb government spending and get the country's economy back on track, Greece is beginning to look more and more like a war zone.

According to Bloomberg, Greek police said in a statement that 45 shops were set on fire, 67 people were arrested, 75 people were detained, and 68 police officers were hospitalized during the protests.

And while clean-up crews are working to restore the streets of Athens to normalcy, it is probable that the anger that fueled yesterday's riots has not yet been extinguished.

What do you think the "Occupy" crowd is?

Exactly the same thing: anarco-communist revolutionaries. Been going on for a long time. WTO demonstrations, same crap. The "Occupy" movement is just a branch of the international communist movement.

Anarcho-syndicalism

A common Anarcho-Syndicalist flag.

In the early 20th century, anarcho-syndicalism arose as a distinct school of thought within anarchism.[78] With greater focus on the labour movement than previous forms of anarchism, syndicalism posits radical trade unions as a potential force for revolutionary social change, replacing capitalism and the state with a new society, democratically self-managed by the workers.

Anarcho-syndicalists seek to abolish the wage system and private ownership of the means of production, which they believe lead to class divisions. Important principles include workers' solidarity, direct action (such as general strikes and workplace recuperations), and workers' self-management. This is compatible with other branches of anarchism, and anarcho-syndicalists often subscribe to anarchist communist or collectivist anarchist economic systems.[79] Its advocates propose labour organization as a means to create the foundations of a non-hierarchical anarchist society within the current system and bring about social revolution.

Exclusive: Bill Ayers Talks About Election Night in Grant Park

From NBC Chicago, Jan 21, 2009:

Bill Ayers was "overflowing with happiness, relief, love" when he and his wife went to Grant Park with tens of thousands of Chicagoans to celebrate the election of President Barack Obama.

Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, spoke exclusively with NBC Chicago's Dick Johnson about why they joined the Election Night celebration in the park, where 40 years before they helped stage the Days of Rage riots.

The couple said they got last-minute tickets from a friend to be in Grant Park that night.

"I couldn't stop crying a couple of times. I found the exact spot where I was beaten 40 years ago," Ayers said. "But I've never been in a crowd that large that wasn't edged with either anger or drunkenness or gluttony, and it was really an extraordinary feeling."

"Gleeful about the raging riots that held England captive this week, the tweet has gone out to activists and ‘disaffected’ youth to “occupy wall street Sept 17” today. Social Networks FaceBook and Twitter are abuzz with plans for coming anarchy on U.S. soil.

The Days of Rage will continue beyond the ‘occupation’ of Wall Street with activists being told “bring your tent”.

The original "Day(s) of Rage"

Days of Rage riots (1969)
The Days of Rage riots in Chicago took place over a 4-day period beginning October 8, 1969, after members of the Weathermen, a militant offshoot of the Students for a Democratic Society [SDS], converged on the city to confront police in the streets in response to the trial of the group of anti-Vietnam War activists known as the "Chicago Eight".

One sign condemns the “junta of the markets.”

Sounds like Occupy has found another party site.

The irony is that the headline limits the damage to a localized “disaster zone.” From reports, all of Greece is a disaster zone.

And Emanuel “Athens” Cleaver laments that 3.8 Trillion in obama’s budget isn’t enough spending.

Yep. That makes sense. Protest the government by burning out your neighbors. Liberals have surrendered their humanity card.

Sad....I wanted to see Greece and Europe some time before the hoards destroyed it...I also wanted to see Egypt/Pyramids but now it looks like that’s not possible either.

I've seen the pyramids and it's like looking at the boat in Gibb's basement, how you gonna get it out and how did they get those big stone up there? And why are they still there?

Looks like the little world of fiat currency mixed with socialism comes tumbling down.

Bankers and bureaucrats don't build "sustainable economies".

What a surprise.

from the Marxist.com article on Greece;

Unemployment levels have been high throughout this period. In 1999-2000, official unemployment stood at 11.8%. Now according to the official figures, this has come down to 7.9%, still high compared to many countries. However, the official figures do not give the full picture, with much underemployment being present in the system. They also do not list how many of these jobs are temporary and low-paid.

Sound like any other country you can think of?

Ok then. Force must be met with force. This isn’t civility or rhetoric from their side, it’s an invitation to war. Then so be it. Crack a few heads open and then lets see how tough they are. If they want more than that well, that’s what the Second Amendments all about.

To wit: producers are enslaved, prevented by force from fleeing a crashing economy - as if that would help.

I believe it was in Roman times when a Caesar decreed that a son must follow his fathers trade and that no one could relocate. That will be the next EU edict.

We have to look at this as a warning. Evidence in the pictures tells us this destructive activity is sponsored by International Socialist/Marxists. We see English, as well as Greek writings throughout the pictures. The rioting IMO is a warning to the rest of the World of what is to come if we don’t knuckle under to their demands.

These sorts should be comdemned as terrorists, and eliminated. That should be a good compromise with the Leftists seeking population control.
