This is an interesting set of circumstances. The Tea Party people have beliefs set in stone. The ‘fleabaggers’ are just tools and useful idiots.
Tools and useful idiots WILL respond positively to intelligent, coherent logic and reason. I’ve had those discussions myself.
The fleabagger’s biggest disappointment is THEIR OWN PEOPLE!

And, I know for a fact, beer works miracles. Just ask Ben Franklin and all the colonials who brewed and drank and discussed politics over a brewski or twoski.
