Illegal immigrants live on edge of society, fearing deportation
Janesville Gazette ^ | Feb. 13, 2012 | ANNA MARIE LUX

Ana shudders at what could have happened.

She has heard about people who walk and die in the desert, who freeze in the mountains and who drown in canals.

She knows that some suffocate in semitrailers or boxcars, where they are crammed so tightly they cannot turn.

She knows that others are beaten and raped by smugglers, who leave them to die.

Every year, migrants risk their lives to illegally cross the 2,100-mile border that separates Mexico and the United States, two neighboring nations that have one of the largest income gaps on Earth.

"I was lucky," said Ana, who lives in Rock County. "I've heard terrible stories about what can happen."

More than a decade ago, Ana left behind her mother and nine siblings in Puebla, south of Mexico City, to join her husband in the United States. He had crossed the border illegally to work and had planned to return after two years.

"It was hard to stay separated from each other," Ana recalled. "I told him that I can come and make money, too."

Ana's husband sent her cash to join him.

The 20-year-old woman traveled to the border town of Tijuana, where she stayed with cousins. She paid $2,000 to a coyote—the term for someone who smuggles people without legal papers across the border. The coyote gave Ana food and water for two days and showed her where to crawl under a border fence. On the other side, another smuggler drove her to Los Angeles.

"In my mind, I always thought I would go back," Ana said. "But now I'm a working mom. My children were born here."

Ana, who is separated from her husband, did not want to be identified. Nor did she want people to know where she works. Ana lives in the shadows

Speaking of Immigration raid "If I had known this would happen, I would have never come to this country," she said. "How can we be treated like this? It is very inhuman. Sometimes, the American dream becomes the American nightmare. In Mexico, we are very poor, but at least we are free. Here, people who do not have their documents live every day with apprehension. When we leave our homes, we do not know if we will return. I never thought there were so many injustices in this country."

From story she drives without drivers license, no insurance, using either a fake or stolen SS #At work, Ana uses a Social Security number she bought on the black market. She did not explain other details about how she navigates a world of illegal residency.

"White people say we come here to steal their jobs," Ana said. "They say we are criminals. But we are people, and we have feelings. Sometimes, other kids tell my kids to 'go back to Mexico.' My daughter says: 'If you don't want Mexicans in this country, then don't buy fruit or milk.'"

I suppose her kids think its ok to use fake or stolen documents, and it does not make you a criminal, in their world.

So, what does she suppose happens to people who go to Mexico illegally and get caught?

So if they weren’t here they wouldn’t need to fear deportation.

All of them should be deported. They are full of entitlement, expecting special perks, and a major danger to our culture.

Ana as long as you and your illegal friends are considered to be Democratic voters you will have everything you want in this country free of charge!

The best of everything for you and yours as long as you are a voter for this White House.

I am sick of it!

I lived in Japan for 15 years. I HAD to toe their line.

You want SYMPATHY? Go live in Japan.

You will find SYMPATHY somewhere between sh*t and Syphilis in the dictionary.

Japanese don’t quibble, you obey their laws or you go.

You don’t like it here? Go back to where you came from.

I have NO sympathy for illegals. Me and my ole lady (sorry feministas, I’m a biker) spent thousands of dollars for her to come here the ‘RIGHT’ way! (She wouldn’t have it otherwise.)

“If I had known this would happen, I would have never come to this country,”

Hey turd, go back to where you came from then.

I’ll stop now.

Too bad our young aspiring journalist didn’t research how Illegals are responsible for Vast Inflation in U.S. health care costs ... or how if an American visiting Mexico gets sick there those Americans are treated like dogs ..

>>>”White people say we come here to steal their jobs,”<<<

Hey, racist pig. Everyone says this. Slurring people based on their skin makes you a stinking bigot. Just based on that, we don’t want you.

>>>...Ana said. “They say we are criminals.<<<<

Hey, honey. You snuck into the country. Illegally. You are a criminal. It’s not an accusation. It’s a description.

>>>But we are people, and we have feelings.<<<

No one denies that. In fact, everyone has feelings, even people on death row. That’s not the point. The point is you committed a crime. Your feelings aren’t an important consideraton.

>>>Sometimes, other kids tell my kids to ‘go back to Mexico.’ My daughter says: ‘If you don’t want Mexicans in this country, then don’t buy fruit or milk.’”<<<

Now isn’t that condescending crap. First, she claims white people are racists. Then she denies her own criminality. Then she chides people, saying that only illegal people can do agricultural labor - the same labor that the kids in Janesville did 50 years ago after school to earn pocket money.

Ana has my contempt. She should deported. Her surly attitude is just the frosting on the entitlement cake.

Here in California the illegals huddle on the edges ... and all throughout massive flea market fairgrounds. They huddle behind food vendor carts parked up and down the avenues in broad daylight. They huddle inside roach coaches parked on every street corner.

They're not doing a very good job of hiding. Maybe they should rent this training video...

I’ve got news for her, Guatemalans that are in mexico without “their documents” live every day with apprehension, because if they are caught by the Mexican police they have the crap beat out of them before they are dumped across the Guatemalan border. She felt free to walk around in Mexico because she is a Mexican citizen. And to your kids, Countries without a Mexican border manage to pick their fruits and veggies just fine.

Not only has Ana given Mexico the finger, she’s also giving to the US as well.

Imagine how wonderful Mexico would be if all these 11 million industrious souls gave a crap about their homeland. Makes ya’ wonder if they give a crap about the country they illegally entered.
