Newt Gingrich reveals sexy Valentine’s Day plans for wife Callista while stumping in California

Newt Gingrich wants America to know he's a lover, not a fighter.

The struggling Republican presidential candidate coyly dished on his Valentine's Day plans for third wife Callista, promising she would not be disappointed.

Gingrich was at a campaign stop in El Monte Calif. on Monday when an audience member asked what his Feb. 14 plans were.

"All I can promise is that I believe she will be quite happy," the ex-House Speaker said to hoots and whistles from the audience.

"I think for the first time in a while we'll have a private dinner and just hopefully exchange gifts and, you know reconnect a little bit," he said with a smile.

Gingrich then raised his arms in the air to wave off further questions, quickly adding "No more details!"

The intimate remarks come as Team Gingrich tries to rev up Callista's public presence on the campaign trail.

Newt’s critics are unable to find fault with his policies, plans, philosophy or record in public office - so they resort to tripe like this.

I am disappointed that FReepers are so gullible or eager to embrace this type of personal destruction by lies and innuendo.

I’m surprised Callista is only 45; she looks older. She really needs to update her look a bit. The stuffy suits, pearls, and most of all, that starched, outdated, bleached hair call for a change.

She's got that Hillary Clinton "stop a buffalo at 40 paces" death stare.

I guess Newt figured, "when all else fails, get a $500,000 credit limit at Tiffany's".

So I guess this means he won’t be having an intimate Valentine dinner at the White Castle.

I can tell Beck coordinates a lot with Fox News. They both do the same stories on Newt in the same way. Beck literally set out to destroy Newt Gingrich. It is like he is on a mission. Sickening. When he is not doing the destroy Gingrich shows he is talking about religion, redemption and love of your brother. Quite a mixed signal.

~snort~

Was it my intention to turn this thread into a Newt/Callista Bash-a-thon?

To poke fun at FR’s Sacred Cow?

Will Tiffany's be also?

Are you holding stock in Tiffany's, or one of their competitors?

If so, good luck with your investments, I hope you make a bundle.

If not, do you wish for Tiffany's to fail as a business, or perhaps in your opinion, Mr. Gingrich spends way too much on his wife? perhaps it is that he spends it on rocks, rather than cans of soup to stash in the garage?

Perhaps you have suggestions on more proper things for him to spend his monies on?

Same here,,,,eeeeewwwww
I expect Newt has a better chance of winning the White House than he does of messing up Calista's hair. Does it ever move?

The bill at Tiffany's was interesting. So is the price of gold. Sounds like Newt made a damn good investment.

I sold all my gold and silver this year...and made out like a bandit.

I know a lady whose hair hasn't moved in 45 years. There are plenty of those folks around.

My 95 year old mother in law is in a home and her hairdresser comes every Saturday. She's outlived 3 already.

Ok, he said they’d eat dinner, exchange gifts and reconnect a bit.

The way it was written made it sound sleazy . ..”with a smile.”

These words standing on their own constitute a normal, simple statement. To reconnect means just sitting down, talking, being alone for a change to have a focused conversation with each other — they’ve been on the campaign surrounded by thousands of people 24/7 — wouldn’t anyone want to perhaps just have a few minutes alone w/ one’s spouse to at least have a conversation? “Connecting” means all kinds of things ...not just hanky panky.

It’s the dirty minds and thoughts of most Americans that are sleazy ... not Newt and his wife.

Horrors!

It goes without saying that you had to buy it first.

Better not run for public office, as some would then fault your purchases, depending on their personal income levels as compared with yours.
