I think this entire episode may be very useful for some of us to shine the light on media malfeasance.

Geron, "All" self-publicizing Catholics don't believe in Catholicism. Everybody knows that.

There are plenty of people who are comprehensively opposed to Catholic faith and morals, who will still call themselves Catholic for the rhetorical torque and political leverage it gives them.

But Houghtom M's point is that only the Catholic Church opposes contraceptive acts per se --- and by the way, that means that only the Catholic Church upholds the historic Christian sexual morality which ALL Christians upheld until 1930. That was when, starting with the Anglicans, Christian groups started to weaken and then give way and conform to a de-Christianized contraceptive culture, calling acceptable what 1900 years of Chriestianity had always called unacceptable.

Pelosi, Kennedy, Sebelius. In what sense do they represent Catholicism?

They are to Catholicism as antimatter is to matter.

It is NOT a *contraception* issue....nor a gay *rights* issue.

It’s a pure and simple attack on freedom of religion... the the free exercise of religion. THAT is their target. PERIOD!

It is the tyranny of relativism. The goal is to FORCE the notion that there are NO absolute moral virtues!!!!

It is evil at its core. It’s the same totalitarian notion dressed up in slightly different clothes for this time-period of history...as has occurred in previous historical periods. Do NOT be fooled.

“...and conveniently opposes contraception, if only in theory.”

What do you mean by:

1. *conveniently*
2. *contraception*
3. *only in theory*

Maybe its because every post and article says it’s “O’s attack on the Catholic Church” when the facts seem to suggest it is an attack on the freedom of religion of everyone.

Maybe the ones who say its just an attack on one denomination should be faulted for dividing what is supposed to be a united opposition to this atrocious diktat?

That was my point, it is a freedom of religion issue, but Obama picked the one issue on which most Catholics don’t obey the church, to challenge the Church’s position.

Like I said, Obama picked contraception as a wedge issue to challenge other edicts of the church and discredit the church, as he trampled the freedom of religion.

Next is Gay Marriage.

Maybe. But this is just the latest step takened by the two fanatics. Of course, this is a nod to the emergence of Santorum, but their target is the Catholic Church. Not either/or here but both and.

Which made the Kennedy funeral such a mockery. Like a requium mass for a Mafia boss.

Exactly -— and I posted exactly that comment on Cardinal Sean’s blog page. In fact, it was a requiem that smelled and looked like a canonization. And O’Malley seemed blindsided, surprised that anybody had a problem with that.

Stand by...because in the days ahead there will be a CLEAR delineation. We will see a new emphasis on teaching the *why* about artificial birth control (among other things).

I believe that we are going to see a renewal of GOOD teaching and profound spirituality within the Church.

It is an attack on the Constitution not a church.

No, it is an attack on a Church as well. The Catholic Church is regarded at Harvard as the enemy.
