WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he'll let a bill that would repeal the White House's hot-button birth control mandate be brought up for a vote.
Reid had criticized Senate Republicans for offering what he called "extraneous" amendments to the Senate's transportation bill but then said he had agreed to a vote on contraception mandate, The Hill reported.

Good chance for passage in both houses.
Obama will veto it.
Senate won’t have enough votes to override the veto.

I don’t think he’ll veto it. If it passes, he has cover on both sides of the issue.

It’s a trap because it’s not about contraceptive, it’s about the Government forcing religious organizations to supply free contraceptive and abortion pills. It’s already legal for any woman to get contraceptive and/or abortion pill anywhere else.

It will pass, this is Obama’s fig leaf. He can then blame the Republicans.

FR is looking for more Monthly Donors. With dedicated Monthly Donors there would be no need for FReepathons. Isn't Free Republic worth it? These FReepers think so. For the past several Thons they have donated $10 for each new monthly donor. LibLieSlayer, afnamvet, DejaJude, upchuck, leapfrog0202, BuckeyeTexan, The Old Lady, onyx, RedMDer, Meg33, anonymous, BooBoo1000, glockrocks
Any FReeper can sponsor any number of New Monthly Donors at $10 per New Monthly Donor. Whatever number you're comfortable sponsoring! All contributions are for the Current Quarter Expenses. In other words, FR could go away if the expenses for this quarter are not met. Where would you go?

Seemingly Snowe and Collins will cross over to support birth control mandate.

Yes, but a few Dems will cross as well. My own soon-to-be-retired Joe Lieberman opposes the mandate.
Seems he might have relocated his conscience since his dalliance with Al Gore.
