Missing Californians (The Number of Top-Income Californians Have Declined by a Third)
American Thinker ^ | 02/15/2012 | Russ Vaugh

Posted on 02/15/2012 7:05:31 AM PST by SeekAndFind

The Sacramento Bee website is reporting that the number of top-income taxpayers in California has declined by a third. In an article in its Capitol Alert section, the Bee says that those Californians with $500,000 and up taxable incomes have declined from almost 150,000 in 2007 to slightly under 100,000 in 2009. The article also notes that the 100,000, representing just over a half percent of the 14.6 million returns, accounted for 18.8 percent of total income reported, but paid 32 percent of all income taxes in 2009.

If Governor Jerry Brown wonders where a whole bunch of those making up that sizable segment of his top taxpayers disappeared to, he might want to call their new governor, Rick Perry, who may have lost in the primary, but who's the surefire winner in the contest to snag rich Californians fleeing the tax tyranny and liberal insanity of the no-longer glittering Golden State.

Maybe California is expecting the illegals to pick up the slack and pay the taxes?

Using typical Rat mentality, they will probably try to make up the difference by raising taxes on the 2/3 who have not fled.

The sad fact is they have moved to states where they will inflict their high taxes philosophy on low tax states. Kinda reminds you of the aliens in “Independence Day.”

Yep. Even I am looking to move back to TX. I dearly love CA's landscape and weather but, just can't take the over taxation and nanny state-ism anymore.

So, is California the new detroit?

Detroit’s Socialist Nightmare Is America’s Future
http://whiskeyandgunpowder.com/detroits-socialist-nightmare-is-americas-future/

The relevant snip:

“In Detroit, they didn’t like paying new, large taxes to fund a largely black and Democratic political hegemony. And so, in 1966, more than 22,000 middle- and upper-class residents moved out of the city.”

Replace “black” with “hispanic”.

I moved to a farm in central Kentucky.

But you didn’t ask “where”. Never mind.

There aren’t enough Californians to whom the concept of a third of something is even meaningful, good luck getting the outrage spigot opened in the nation’s human terrarium. What was that song that declared California as “where the scum meets the sea...”?

Not necessarily. At a certain income level, the CA tax savings would pay for a condo in NV.

No need to actually live there, just visit when the weather is nice and use it as a tax address. Lot's of “Californians” live (cough, cough) in Incline Village on Lake Tahoe.

Keep voting in those socialist democRATS into office. But don’t worry than the federal government will come in bail you out because “your too big to fail” then they will own you.

And the cycle repeats itself.

I remember when California was a swing state. The influx of people from the east and from foreign shores changed all that.
