Thanks very much, Marcella!

Are Texas voters getting screwed?

Texas deserves to be heard from before May 29, 2012!

Yes, we’re getting screwed.
We were already screwed but now we’re getting screwed worse.

I hate to say it, but if this escalates it could be.. bad things.

Charlie. ;-)

Thanks, onyx, for posting this for me. I have’t posted anything before and I was so shocked at this email I got from The Austin Statesman, I wanted it posted fast and didn’t want to waste time to do it myself.

Our presidential candidates won’t get any delegates from Texas until THE END OF MAY! This is unbelievable. The Newt camp will probably go nuts over this as he’s counting on our 155 delegates to go to him. That, of course, isn’t certain at this point, but to put our primary the last of May is nuts.

I don’t have a voter card, either. Our county is large and part of it is in one district and the other part in another district. The new map puts them together, so we can’t get a voter card until the district lines are in concrete.

What's the conflict over the 25th? I'm guessing that the black minority thinks the white guy represents them while the change would very likely result in a brown guy being elected. And in my experience there's no worse blood than that between those two groups. Gads, they seem to really, really hate each other. If they were white I guess it'd be racists.

Ah, the complications of a Balkinized election map.

We're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little more now if we can and the rest next quarter.

At least you’re still ahead of 6 states who aren’t voting until June.

Even if it is April 3, it'll likely be over by then. But if it's not by April 3, it probably won't be by May 29th either.

I am still ticked off at having no voice in the '08 primary, except a protest vote. If Texas had an earlier primary, say right after or the same week as Florida, McStain would likely not have been the nominee.

Us Texans were resigned to “Operation Chaos” by the time the Primaries rolled around in 2008. I did not think the Texas primary in 2012 would matter anyway. It seems to be decided before we have a say and especially this year.
we will be accused of wearing white sheets but in actuality it is the whackos in the black robes that have made a bad situation worse, again!.
