At my daughters schools they are both told they have to take every item listed on that days menu if they buy lunch— even if it ends up being thrown away. My daughter tries to make the best choices, but sometimes it's hard. They do keep fresh fruit on the menu, there's always a vegetable, and some baked chips, cheese sticks, popsicles, etc as ala carte items. But last week an orange came with the lunch. She knew she didn't like the peas and didn't want some greasy gross other item as she described it but she took the whole meal and added an apple off the ala carte menu, that she would pay more for. They yelled at her! Told her she already had a fruit item and if she was going to buy an extra item, it had to be from a different “ food group”. They ended up telling her to buy the
baked Lays potato chips instead of an apple! They gave her no other choice and she was hungry! The school told me they were under federal guidelines to do this. I told both schools anytime my children wanted to buy an extra fruit or vegetable they were able to do so by my guidelines. Also ice cream twice a month. My younger one has a teacher that will only allow a “healthy” snack to be brought for the class (they each bring in one days snack for the whole class per month) and only water to be drank from their required to purchase stainless steal water bottles. She's always lecturing parents. So yesterday I sent in Oreos and 0% juice “juice” boxes. I sent a letter that said we know what's good for our children, and when the lecturing stopped that's when I'd send it in. She didn't say anything but gave them the juice boxes and oreos!

"This Isnt China, Is It?No. You can tell because in China they don't probably search the kiddies' lunchboxes. At lease the ones they let survive birth.

NC Pre-K (before this year known as More at Four) is a state-funded education program designed to enhance school readiness for four year-olds.Uh, I thought that was the justification for Kindergarten itself. Are they going to now push for the right to indoctrinate THREE-year-olds so they'll be ready for the four-year-olds' curriculum??
As a side note, Kindergarten indoctrination into the wondrous-ness of school must work because I didn't attend and I think they're a bunch of idiots.

neither could give me the correct answer to a simple math question however. After 2 weeks of home schooling guess what.. They can answer that simple math question.Did the PC brainwashing start to undo itself as well?

Next, they will rummage through our home refrigerators. That's probably what the big push was for internet-connected appliances a few years ago. So our refrigerators could rat us out to these petty tyrants without them even having to get off their capacious asses and taking the risk of entering the home of one of their irate superiors.
They claimed it was so the fridge could call a repairman when it "needed service" (no doubt defined as when Whirlpool "needed money"). My attitude was that if the fridge was going to be calling the repairman for service it better have a job so it can pay him too.

A pity those parents in 1865 didn’t just posse up and unload some brass on the thugs who came after their children.
