AP ^ | February 16, 2012 | Alan Fram

Republican Mitt Romney is faltering with white working-class voters crucial to his party's drive to capture the White House, even as he tries to fend off a rising GOP challenger, Rick Santorum, who wields strong blue-collar appeal.

The wealthy former Bain Capital chief has led his rivals by comfortable margins among white college graduates, according to combined polls of voters in the first five states that held presidential nominating contests. But the exit and entry surveys showed only a modest Romney advantage among whites who lack college degrees, the yardstick analysts typically use to define the working class.

Mr. off shore bank account that likes to fire people and doesn’t care about the poor is having trouble with the common man? shocking!

lol

Has there ever been a potential candidate that could be so easily framed as the stereotypical evil, rich, uncaring, Republican as Mitt Romney?

I seriously think Obama could win a 40 state landslide if that idiot is our nominee.

What? The jeans and plaid shirt aren’t working?? Maybe he should get one of those Carhart jackets that John Kerry wore throughout his campaign.

Go into any VFW and sit at the bar near the jukebox playing country music. To a soul there, they will all know this Romney for what and who he is. A slick PHONY.

Middle America won't vote for such a man.

These are the people that have gone through the last 30 years of corporate takeovers and “right-sizing.”

Almost all of them have either been right-sized out of a job and into the unemployment line (or threatened with it).

When you cause someone personal pain (as corporate raiders like Romney/Bain have done over the last few decades), you’re not going to score many points with them by saying “it wasn’t personal, it was just good business.”

To people who had dedicated their lives to working their way up through a company’s ranks, only to find themselves at risk of losing their jobs—not because they have done anything wrong, but because the company was bought in a leveraged buyout—it doesn’t feel like just business. It feels personal—very personal.

It wouldn’t be surprising is a lot of that bottled up resentment was being turned towards Romney. An is, imho, one of the reasons why Romney can’t get past the 25% hump in GOP popularity.

Mitt is such a transparent phony. He looks like every backstabbing weasel boss that ever lied to your face on the job.

The man is an archetype. The same archetype that was parodied by the old “Joe Isuzu” ad campaign. And nearly everyone can spot a jerk like nearly instantly, no matter how much the jerk attempts to disguise himself.

Romney's bad behavior Exposed by Seamus

"Romney Loses Nomination Over Dog Abuse? - Romney was traveling that summer with his wife, five sons, and Seamus to his parent's cottage on Lake Huron. But hours into the ride, Seamus apparently suffered diarrhea, which ran down the back window of the car. .David Kravitz wrote on BlueMassGroup, a liberal blog. "It also strikes me as classic Romney: it solves a problem efficiently, in a business-like manner, and with no regard whatsoever for the suffering that the solution may cause."

In fact, writing up that post caused me to finally remember who it is Mitt Romney reminds me of - Joe Isuzu. Think I’ll make that into a tagline . . . .
