Well since no one is stopping these people.............
“It was reported that many of the people were affiliated with ‘Occupy Everything’ and were celebrating their escapades in The Shadow Lounge.
I’m a Pittsburgh native-—born and bred there. About 20% of the people actually work there. The other 80% are either retired, work for the government (which doesn’t count as work), or are simply unemployed (whether looking or not looking for work). I don’t live there anymore but I go back there frequently. It’s sad. A once prosperous and thriving area has gone to the dogs-—victims of union and government greed and mismanagement.
I live about 30 miles south of the city. Go there for Pirates and Steelers games. The city skyline view from PNC Park is really something.
My grandaughter lived in Monessen (what a sh**hole!) for about a year and a half-came home about nine months ago. I visited her frequently, and made it into P’burgh several times. Had a great time, really nice folks there. Lotsa people told me they’re leaving the area-hey-maybe the traffic will improve!
Love the Strip District and several other neighborhoods-AND the view from the Duquesne Incline is jaw-dropping!
Formerly Homestead, Greentree and Crafton/Ingraham here.
Been gone for 30 years and glad.
Did some calculations one day, 50 minutes down Greentree Hill to get to work. Hey, I was out of there.
Still go back for family and love what they have done with the city. No matter what, it will always be home.
But I do love the smell of chocolate in the morning here in Hershey.
BTW, its not East Liberty, it’s Eassliberty.
