Another Newt Gingrich 'comeback' on the horizon?
Fox News ^ | 2/15/2012 | Greta Van Sustern

GINGRICH: No. It just means that we're going to have to pick up all those delegates in late May, just before the California primary, when we hope to pick up more delegates out here.

That still means that on super-Tuesday, we're looking at Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, we're looking at Ohio. It means the week after super- Tuesday, we're looking at Alabama and Mississippi.

Now, we have hopes that we're going to keep picking up delegates everywhere and continue. This race is going on for a long time, I think. And what Texas moving back means, combined with California being in early June, the two biggest states in the country aren't going to be deciding and may well be the two states that decide who the nominee is.

VAN SUSTEREN: As a practical matter, though, if you could pick up Texas early on, it would be -- it certainly would be a -- you know, good for donors. I mean, it'd be sort of a good incentive to get donors to pay into your campaign if you picked up 155 delegates

“like to see a Newt/Perry ticket.”

Yes, that would be an excellent team.

Oh, I like that, order66:

.... he’s the only candidate who’s at least reasonably conservative on all 3 “legs of the stool.”

Mitt is liberal on social issues.
Santorum is liberal on economic issues.
Paul is liberal on foreign policy/defense.

Newt’s imperfect, but at least he’s one of us.

I certainly hope that Newt makes a comeback, he is the only true conservative on both economic and social issues.

Mitt and Rick go to “play it safe” mode, dodge debates with Doctor Newt.

The RCP site is bogus on delegate counts,

for example, while Colorado and Minnesota have had their "beauty contest" caucuses, They still have NOT elected their delegates to Tampa. Both states go through a complicated multi-tier delegate selection process and a candidate who draws a bunch of neophytes (read "Santorum"), will usually have a harder time getting delegates to the top tier.

In Colorado, the party makes you pay (at the caucus, no credit cards) to be a candidate for delegate to the next level, lots of Rick's people didn't know this and left their checkbooks home. He'll still get a lot and COUL get a plurality, but I doubt it......he certainly will not sweep.

"watching the world situation right now, I would surely hope they will once again make Newt the front runner."

Yes, and you know if we are going to be facing more touchy military situations in the next few years, maybe Newt should pick Allan West for VP?

Newt at a LA speech yesterday said that we need a national dialogue about radical Islam. Allan West understand radical Islam and can communicate our problems with it cogently. It would be the perfect job for his Vice Presidency -- to educate the electorate.

West has combat and military leadership experience. He would add military gravitas as well as the coolness factor of putting a black guy on the ticket.

And West is form Florida, which we need to win.

To Conservatives the ad comes off as very pro Gingrich.”

Link, please?

The highest honor that can be paid to a propagandist is to have his opponent see the ad as an accurate depiction of what he actually believes.

Bottom line: If we really believe the other guy is awful, let's try to craft our arguments and ads in ways the other guy will have to agree privately are accurate, even if he can't or won't admit that in public.

We have a conservative now leading Romney nationally and in the state of his birth, it’s a wonder people are still fixated on Gingrich, winner of only 1 state so far.

Even better. Newt vs. Bill. Bill would love the limelight and the attention would vault Newt to the head of the pack. It would be ballsy on his part, to say the least.
