I’m sure West has heard many insults hurled at him from his political opponents, but last week his would be opponent in his current Florida district, Patrick Murphy, called the revered military leader a “Coward.”
The remark was made in response to West’s announcement that he would seek re-election in a neighboring district after the Florida legislature redrew his current district with a heavy Democratic influence. We know that Allen West can stand up for himself, and that he himself has not been shy about taking on political opponents and ideas.

I just read that MURPHY is running in a new district because he can’t beat Adam Hasner who is running for the seat Allen West had! Guess what?! Murphy is now running against West in the NEW district!!

Allen West is one large reason there is still hope in America. I’d follow the man through the valley of the shadows of hell on earth and I am. Stay the course. Screw the rest.
This is one man I would love to call Mr. President. Yet, Allen wants to stay in Congress where he can do the most good. Although I do not live in Florida, I send him contributions when I can. I get email from him every week with updates on what he’s been doing. We need more like him running this country. God Bless Allen West!

There are some things sensible people do not do, and the list includes calling decorated combat veterans “cowards.” Even if Congressman West were a liberal Democrat I'd be objecting to such slander. There is no excuse for it.
Freedom isn't free; we have our freedoms because of the sacrifices of our servicemembers, and we forget that at our peril.
If the FL legislature is largely Repub and conservative, why did they create a hostile new district for West?
