OPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Eight Kansas legislators have endorsed former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
Gingrich's campaign announced the endorsements Thursday. The Republican lawmakers include two state senators _ Ray Merrick, of Stilwell, and Rob Olson, of Olathe.
Six Kansas House members have endorsed Gingrich as well. They are Anthony Brown, of Eudora; Mario Goico, of Wichita;

The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.

I’ll be voting for Newt in the March 10 caucus. So far I am dragging 5 relatives with me to do the same. I suspect Santorum will do quite well though. Huckabee won in 2008 with 60%. McCain was a distant second and Romney 3rd.
Hi Onyx. I am trying to throw a few extra bucks Jim’s way, but I have a question. Is he doing an extra drive for this equipment, or is it included in the quarterly figures? Let me know if we need to put more somewhere else. I just don’t think I could make it through the next elections without the wisdom and comfort from fellow Freepers. I am hoping there is a lot of joyous commentary in November, and I want servers that will work for us.

The costs for the new servers are included in this FReepathon and the xext one (our Second Quarter FReepathon). Notice that the amount we’re trying to raise is $6K more than our Fourth Quarter FReepathon? Well, I wouldn’t expect you or anyone else to remember or to notice.

No, thank you! I lived through Clinton and Florida fiasco refreshing on this site. I will try to keep adding a little extra each month.
2008 KS caucus turnout was 19,000 in a state of 2.8 million. Almost as lightly-attended as Maine. And in a heavy GOP state.
