Thread XXXV? Woo hoo!! We're getting close but need to put this FReepathon to bed before we run out of Roman Numerals. I'll have to do the research but I think there's some kind of trick when you hit 39 or 40.
We don't sell products or services on FR. We don't sell advertising. We don't charge membership dues. We are not a 501c non profit and therefore are not subject to government regulation. We pay all applicable taxes on our income and are free to speak our mind. Our operating costs are funded solely by donations from our readers and participants and that's the way we'd like to keep it if we possibly can. We are beholden to no one but our like-minded, pro-life, small government, strong defense, conservative grassroots membership!!
The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.
No matter who gets the nomination or eventually wins the election, we're going to need FR more than ever to hold their feet to the fire!!
We need FR and FR needs you!!

How I ended up at FR and a donor?I was a former Global Moderator at TBL for several months endured an administration and a web site out of control.Secondly, I quit because , who is the administrator was listening more to BobJ(who is the “advisor”) than he did to his own posters. BobJ has hijacked the web site and has been calling the shots there.It all started on December 25,2011, when BobJ posted a defaced picture of Jesus Christ. I objected to the picture being there. I wanted the entire picture taken out. But the TBL allowed the picture being there calling it “free speech”. Three weeks ago, BobJ sent me a objection of a slang term which is common ‘street slang” but within taste. I said that he was whining and told him to stop pestering me like he has done in numerous occasions. He went over my head, to the administrator and said that it was improper and the administrator agreed. It was then I learned that BobJ has been giving advice to the administrator. I also learned he has been given “special treatment” because he is a “special case” there and had been as a defacto administrator.TBL has become TBLBobJ forum.The proliferation of 21st century anti-Semitic speech ,anti-Zionism, support of the desecration of Jesus Christ photos or “icons” by the administration in the name of “free speech” at the site is not “free speech”.Its rubber stamped hate speech.That is why I am here and that is why you need to keep Free Republic online.
