I believe it. Remember, Iowa was soaked in a solid month of unanswered Newt-hatred from the Romney campaign, and the caucus results showed that the bumpkins clearly swallowed it down. No reason they should start thinking for themselves now, when the press no longer cares what they think.

Was this a preference poll or an electability poll? If it was an electability poll, I think that makes sense. And yes, the mud effect yet lingers...but is dissipating...
