Sadly, that perverse world view is probably at the root of this decision to change the sister city of Montgomery County.
That being said, perhaps the writer of the posted article is taking his anger about this a bit too far. Is there anything substantial that the Beth Shemesh community loses as a result of its "sister city" breakup with Montgomery County?
I get the impression that just about all "sister city" arrangements between American localities and overseas ones are primarily ceremonial. (Of course, Montgomery County is not even a city.)
