It's a place known for the long, symbiotic relationship it shares with nearby Tinker Air Force Base.

For the third time in just more than a year and half, the Oklahoma County district attorney has ruled a resident was within his rights to shoot and kill an intruder under the state's “Make My Day” law.

There are 77 counties in Oklahoma. I am proud to say all 77 counties voted AGAINST Ubama in the 2008 election.

For what it is worth, readers of this article might not know that Oklahoma County District Attorney Prater also made the controversial decision to prosecute for murder a pharmacist for shooting a teen-aged robber. The facts there are that the pharmacist rightly defended himself, shot the perp, BUT then went to the back brought back another handgun or reloaded, and then shot the perp as he laid helpless on the floor. Video was clear about what happened

This got a lot of play in our communities with people of different backrounds on both sides of the case. Gun controllers were predicatble, but men of good faith also differed on this one case. Prater himself is not a gun-grabber.

That was also true of the threads right here on FR.

Well meaning arguments on both sides.
