Even she - a diehard socialist - sees the sense in bringing manufacturing back home.

Why would it surprise everyone that a socialist supports government intervention in the marketplace?

She did raise one point, though, the definition of manufacturing.

The problems with Santorum's collectivist folly are so obvious that even a self-avowed socialist understands them. The real question is why won't all of the fake conservatives on this thread admit that which should be obvious to all?

With respect, the government has been meddling in the marketplace for years by punitive taxation of businesses.
Sure, you are being told that the US is going to a more intellectual property, service economy.

Let me tell you from bitter experience. A service economy doesn’t work when people can’t afford the services. Every country needs an actual manufacturing base. We no longer have one, and we are pretty much screwed.
The country that single handedly started the industrial revolution now makes almost nothing itself. Think about that for a second.
