“I wish Santorum would ditch this revive manufacturing nonsense.....It makes him look like he doesnt understand free markets, free trade, and limited government.”
I am SO SICK of everything I buy these days being made in China. I actually get happy when I find something made in Mexico. IF “Free Markets” means a continued influx of Red Chinese goods that are short term “painless” but in the long term set us up for Chinese World dominence. Then I guess I’m against “free markets.” We MUST bring manufacturing BACK to North America and STOP Chinese economic warfare which is financing a large bigup of Chinese Military might in the Pacific like the Japenese leading up to WWII.
I’m willing to pay more and bring work back. So, IF that isn’t being for “free markets”...so be it.
So buy something else.

The key to saying smart things is to explain in rational, objective terms why you want what you want. The cost of manufacturing certain goods in China today is lower than making those same goods here. So why exactly does it weaken America if an American pays less for shoes made in China and then has the extra money to spend on something else?
We MUST bring manufacturing BACK to North America...
Why?
...and STOP Chinese economic warfare which is financing a large bigup of Chinese Military might in the Pacific like the Japenese leading up to WWII.
What is "economic warfare"? Do you mean "competition"? Competition is part of reality. We can't stop it. The Chinese have every right to manufacture stuff and sell it. If they are violating trade agreements then that is something we should take up with them. But if they are just working hard and trying to get rich then so what? Why shouldn't they?
Im willing to pay more and bring work back. So, IF that isnt being for free markets...so be it.
Do what you want with your money. Leave my money alone.
Oddly enough, transportation and labor costs in China are bringing a very limited number of jobs back.
There’s a flat screen TV maker opening a factory near Detroit. They’re specializing in screens over 47 inches and will start with Chinese made components but they are planning to build their own supply chain in the midwest.
