RV6A here, Kit fox is a nice little platform for low and slow. One of my neighbors has one. What part of south Calif do you fly out of?

fl37 is where I live,
private airpark.
Lot of real fine planes here, Staggerwing, P-51, t-38, and a guy even has a dc3 on floats.
Me? just have lots of fun with the RV6A.
