Shocking! Next thing we’ll hear is that Santorum believes a carpenter rose from the dead.

Santorum sure got that one right. If it is not obvious by now who is controlling this world and this country then you are spiritually dead. Pure evil is taking over the land.

If this were thirty years ago, I’m sure you would’ve said the same thing about Ronald Reagan and his Evil Empire speech. After all, he said that the Soviet Union was, “the focus of evil in the modern world”.
He was widely ridiculed for saying it, but he was right.

I never go to Drudge anymore.
To: citizen
Its not significant that Drudge reported it. If he had not someone else would have. The significant thing is the things Rick is on record saying. America wont elect a religious zealot, just like they wont elect a Libertarian zealot. Rick has to be smart in what he says and how he says it. Obama would love to have Santorum as his election foe because, unfortunately as things stand now, it would be no contest. That may not be a popular opinion, but it is accurate.
And I think you hit the nail on the head in talking about what he says and how he says it. I think a great many Americans might agree with some of the opinions he expresses. But I also think that a great many of them are uncomfortable with a political leader expressing them in those terms. Focusing on Christ's message as an inclusive one of love never alienates people. But using an overtly religious theme as exclusionary, "us v. them", is really going to make a lot of people uncomfortable.

lol! Like minds!
Ronald Reagan and his Evil Empire speech
I was thinking the same thing today. The left and "moderates" went apoplectic over Reagan calling the Soviet Union that. They tried to scare the public about it. It didn't work. Will it work this time, or will we rally around Santorum?
I am getting more excited by Santorum the more Drudge and the rest of the establishment and left attack him. :-D

The fact that saying something so blatantly, obviously true is considered “controversial” tells you all you need to know. He’s not called “The Father of Lies” for nothing.

nor do I...
In my third week of NO DRUDGE and have adjusted well, don’t miss him a bit...

I was in college when Reagan made that speech. As I was the conservative in my group of friends, they directed their ridicule of Reagan towards me. I had fun responding:
“Is the Soviet Union an empire?”
Yes
“Is it good or evil?”
That’s ridiculous! Who can determine whether a government is good or evil!
“Ok. Is freedom of speech a good thing?”
Yes
“Is freedom of religion a good thing?”
Yes
“Is a government that denies those good things to it’s people good or evil?”

I think you are slowly convincing me. That photo Drudge has up there of Santorum on an altar looks like a screenshot from some cheesy, 1980s Made for TV movie bashing televangelists.
Recently Drudge posted a photo of Santorum looking goofy while Romney looked normal, and not long ago, Drudge posted a really dorky high school photo of Santorum and then a week or so later posted a photo of Romney from his high school days looking normal.
It is completely deliberate. Fox News, Drudge, I try not to have anything to do with them anymore. It's pathetic how low they sink in shilling for Mittens.
To: haircutter
I defended him before. Not again. For the first time since 1998, Drudge is not my homepage.
I should have known he’d gone to the dark side when all the Alex Jones crap started showing up.

I still feel the only way we get a really solid Conservative elected as president it to first get them in as VP. Such as Romney (or another perceived moderate) teaming with a more conservative candidate for a 2012 ticket, then electing the conservative as president in 2016 or 2020. This assumes the 2012 team performs well after elected, no small task given that the Dims and their msm lackeys will be battling them every step of the way.
A vote for a liberal with an (R) next to their name is the same as a vote for a liberal with a (D) next to their name - the only difference is how fast they are taking us down the road to socialism.
Supporting a ticket because a Conservative is in the VP slot will do us no good at this point in time, because it just solidifies the hold of the liberals like Mittens.

That’s why we have elections in November, not February. A few polls have the race very close and that’s with the media rooting for Obama and slamming Rick with only negative coverage. If Rick wins the nomination he will have a lot of time to present his case to the people. I wouldn’t count him out—remember, he won two senate elections in a BLUE state, not an easy task.

IMHO, a lot of people are running from Rick precisely because they know he’s right, but supporting him would mean they would have to defend the things he says.

"The path of least resistance. Also known as the road to hell." One might even say, "Whistling past the graveyard." ;-)
