While plenty of Texans have put forward big bucks for presidential candidates and their Super PACs, smaller donations gave each of the four leading Republican candidates several hundred thousand dollars in January, according to the Federal Election Commission.
The donations for individuals and PACs the non-super ones are capped at $5,000. And while they are drowned out by the donations such as Houston home builder Bob Perrys million to Mitt Romney, they still play a part in the election.
Candidates still count the small donors, said Texans for Public Justice Director Craig McDonald. I think its a way to measure in some sense their popularity among the electorate.
The most financial support went toward Newt Gingrich who raised $373,792 last month, bringing his total to $1,040,216 for the state over all.

Newt is getting almost no air time on the MSM and Fox is just as bad. It looks like ads will be the only way he can get his message out. It will be hard since Romney and Santorum are using negative ads and if Newt gets any attraction they will hit him again. Newt is in a hard place.
Go Newt!

It is great to know that some of us, do see the strength in which Newt can give to the country. There's no doubt his supporters think highly of him.

Newt is in a hard place ...
Yes ... so were George Washington (just before Trenton) ... and Winston Churchill when the NAZI were smarming all over conquered Europe ...
Fortunately ... and this "is not" a "blind-allegance" nor a "political groupie" observation ...
Newt Gingrich "perfectly" understands where he is strategically and tactically ...
Just like Wellington at Waterloo (highly recommended movie with Netflix ... http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Waterloo/70008096?trkid=2361637) ...
Newt Gingrich knows that courage and patience and Prayer will win the day ... for America and his campaign ...
