UN atomic agency team 'denied access' to suspected Iran nuclear site

The UN atomic agency said Wednesday that "intensive efforts" by its team visiting Iran on the way forward failed, and that they were denied access to a key military site.

"Intensive efforts were made to reach agreement on a document facilitating the clarification of unresolved issues in connection with Iran's nuclear programme," the International Atomic Energy Agency said.

"Unfortunately, agreement was not reached on this document."

The team requested access both during this visit and during a first trip in late January to the Parchin military site where it suspects suspicious nuclear activities are carried out, but Iran "did not grant permission," it said.

"It is disappointing that Iran did not accept our request to visit Parchin during the first or second meetings," IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano said in the statement.

"We engaged in a constructive spirit, but no agreement was reached."

The United States inspected Dimona seven times in the 1960s
and they found no indication of a weapons program in Israel.

Therein lies great irony. “Everybody” knows Israel has the bomb, yet Israel itself says not a word about it, rattles no nuclear sabers, and allows inspectors despite being under no treaty obligation to do so. Iran, however, sometimes swears that it has no nuclear weapon intentions, sometimes threatens to use nuclear weapons, and bars inspectors despite being obligated by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to allow them access, and the WH can’t even bring itself to call a spade a spade.

I am sure that Obama can use this information in his upcoming meeting with Netanyahu to persuade Israel not attack Iran (liberal inside out thinking).

And it’s much more palatable than constant threats of annihilating others, too, which appears to be A’jad’s preferred method of diplomacy when he doesn’t have “intellectuals” at Ivy League schools hanging on his every word.
