I really get upset with people that take an issue to the extreme. If you don’t agree with the idea of selling cookies then you won’t buy one single thing for sale anywhere since just about any major organization has one or two issues that we don’t agree with. The GS’s have done a magnificent effort for young girls especially those that come from marginal households.
I used the “fluoride in water” as an example for an issue that seems to bring out the type of people that upset me.

I understand your view. I think that this is different for many people.

Another poster referenced murderers hiding behind children. I wouldn’t frame it in those terms.

The more I read about this, the more I was reminded of a counter-protest I took part in outside Arlington National Cemetery, and the people on the other side were the Westboro Baptist people.

They had a cute little blonde girl with them who was holding an unspeakable sign, she looked to be perhaps five or six. (I would post a picture I took of her, because I couldn’t believe it, but I cannot find it)

The point is, if that little girl was selling cookies to support the Westboro Baptists, nobody would criticize anyone for refusing to buy them.

I maintain that is because those behind that little girl are straight up and forward with their message, having the little girls hold signs proclaiming just exactly what the unsavory message the cookies support really is.

There is no doubt the Girl Scouts go to great lengths to hide their connections, even scrubbing websites to remove those incriminating things.

In my opinion, what many people feel who are upset about this is simply that the Girl Scouts don’t have their charges (the girls) holding the same clearly spelled out signs as high and as seemingly unashamedly as the Westboro Baptists, but they think the underlying organizational goals are just as unsavory. I think that is what many people feel at a more basic level...and it hurts. It is well known fact that Leftists see children as tools, and this compounds their anger.

You’re literally way out in Left Field if you do not see the massive and long running subversive nature of the GSA. It is no tin-foil hat subject my FRiend. The GSA bureaucrats seem pretty comfortable with any and all Leftist causes and Lib role models. Research it yourself.
