Gingrich Draws A Crowd At ORU

Over 3,000 people crowded the Mabee Center at Oral Roberts University, Monday Afternoon to hear from the Republican Presidential contender.

Many were in attendance to make sure President Obama doesn't get a second term in Washington. And Newt Gingrich wants to be the man who replaces him. He took several shots at the presidents energy policies.

"Let me start with a simple premise that most Oklahomans will understand. you cannot put a gun rack in a volt..." Gingrich said.

To most in the audience, Gingrich was a crowd pleaser. Some expressed concern about rising gas prices at the pumps.

One woman in the crowd suggested we "Tap our oil reserves so that we'll put people to work and help us from an energy standpoint as well."

Also of concern, the national debt and the desire for a balanced budget.

"Get the government out of things. We don't want all the government funded programs," said one student in the audience.

Gingrich drew applause, and at times standing ovations.

Newt was awesome. Sarah Palin said tonight that Newt is sounding awesome in his last speeches. She wants the energy reform discussed. She pleaded with all candidates to discuss that issue though, Newt is on top of that issue now. She was ask if she could recommend which candidate to vote for in Michigan. She said she didn’t know who she could support in Michigan between Mitt and Rick. She took up for Rick on his social issues. She said we need big reforms more so now. I still think she is pulling for Newt. I just wish she would help him since the media keeps telling the public he is done now for 3 weeks and Newt has no experience and solid plans. if she-is tied in a contract, why can’t she quit-or maybe she’s in a contract that she will have legal liabilities. I wish she would join Newt as VP. I don’t understand what she is doing when she goes to the edge to support Newt, then stops. People are pleading with her to help Newt on her facebook. If she doesn’t help, soon, I think we will end up with Romney. I am thinking Romney will win Michigan. She said she knew the establishmnet would not ask for her help at all so she should go rogue to get the energy policy changed by joining Newt.

Sarah is right where she needs to be at the moment. People listen to her, and not just her fans who wish she would have run. (I am one of them, to be honest. You want to oust the first black president - give us the first woman president).

She is currently pushing the most conservative who can win each state. She prefers Newt, that is pretty obvious from what she says, but she would be happy enough with Santorum and is willing to push him when Newt has no chance in a particular state.
She doesn’t want a liberal RINO any more than we do. In the battle of big money and establishment vs grassroots, she knows how to handle a grassroots campaign.

Trust her on this.
I do.

“The Volt is an interesting experimental car,” Gingrich said, noting the average Volt owner makes $170,000, adding: “This is Obama’s idea of populism.”

I listened to this speech, and as always, I was very moved. I am always impressed with Newt’s encyclopedic mind and his command of any topic put to him. What impressed me most, as always, was his answers to the questions put to him by the students. He is always at his best when he is doing these things. The lack of any kind of coverage at all from the mainstream media is a clue to me that they are scared to death of him. They won’t be asking him to come onto any of their shows, because he will turn them inside out and shake them, and they know it.
