I saw this on a local TV news broadcast then, a few minutes later, I was surfing and either History or the Military Channel was showing Hitler dancing (by himself) outdoors at his mountain retreat (apparently for some visiting British).

I guess you gotta make them think you're harmless - it worked on his British visitors and it worked on the German people. "Oh Adolph is such a wonderful person isn't he!!!!"

Following the war, it was revealed that John Grierson, director of the Canadian information and propaganda departments, had manufactured the clip after noticing that Hitler raised his leg rather high up while stepping backwards. He realized that this moment could be looped repeatedly to create the appearance that Hitler was jumping with joy.
