Newt has said that if Obama refuses to debate, he will set his schedule for precisely two hours behind any campaign stop that Obama makes, and will refute every point of Obama’s speech.
Amen! The libs can screech all they want bout “Newt’s language.” The only thing controversial here is that somehow it’s legal to murder human beings for pleasure in the name of liberty and justice. Nearly half of our society have become little Caligulas.
"If my daughters make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby" - Barack Hussein Obama in Johnstown, PA March 29, 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jszkPtsFH-k
Why?
By whom? The media? The liberal establishment? The Republican establishment? His slavish liberal followers? The Daily Kos or the Huff Post crowds? Moderates?
Sure, we'd laugh. Until we saw that we were the only ones laughing. And that everybody else was making excuses for him.
There will "insuperable disagreement on the debates' terms, structure, locations, timing (first one, then the next)". Eventually, they will be cancelled due to "scheduling conflicts"...or some such.
Do you honestly believe that the media (and his supporters) will take Obama to task for not participating in debates? Instead, they will blame Newt for his "intransigence".
he gave a weak defense on this once - and the “fact checking” websites are covering for him on this.
He claims there was already a law that dealt with the issue...I haven’t a clue what law he was referring to.
Anyways...there is audio of him contradicting this reasoning.
He was not recorded claiming his vote was based on an already existing law. No...he is recorded as saying that offering care to living babies who have survived abortion attempts would be “too much of a burden” on the doctors and the mothers.
A heart of stone.
I don't disagree with you.
But there are too many people on this board willing to chose a candidate based solely on his debate performance -- and projecting that to a debate match-up with Obama (which smply won't happen if Newt is the candidate).
I don’t doubt the deck will be stacked against our guy... I just don’t think Obama can simply avoid going to ANY debate, whoever the nominee turns out to be. He will definitely be trying to avoid it if Newt ends up on the ticket.
Was your post directed to me by mistake?
I'll ask again. Why not?
Who will call him on it? Besides the conservative media?
Fair enough... ;o)
I think they have to at least create the ILLUSION that they are playing fairly so that the vast number of people who haven't yet caught onto their game don't "wake up" and see the depth and breadth of the MSM's media bias for what it is.
Media Bias is only effective when people don't believe it's there.
People expect candidate debates to be part of the election process. Consequently, it would be easier for Obama et al to do what they normally do, have all the talking heads proclaim Obama the winner regardless of his performance hoping to catch Newt in a "gotcha" moment, than it would be to get people to buy whatever excuse they could come up with to explain why they were unwilling to debate at all.
Debating Newt is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" proposition for Obama... which, by the way, is pretty much the essence of a check mate.
People also expect their President, regardless of party, to be pro-American.
The media will, of course, play a major role in the debate story. They could, as you suggest, simply declare Obama the winner -- regardless of what truly happened.
On the other hand, their role may be to support Obama's four-corners delaying game -- constantly obsfuscating and blaming Newt's campaign team for fomenting interminable disagreements.
I still believe that, if his GOP opponent is Newt, Obama will try to avoid any kind of debate.
I've got no disagreement with you, there. It's going to be interesting to watch, regardless. ;o)
LOL! probably!
I thought I was responding to someone who was wondering about Obama’s defense of that awful vote
No worries!
I know I’ve done the same thing before... I wonder how many times I’ve done it and not ever realised it. ;o)
This election cycle has demonstrated how fickle the so called leadership of the PROUD GOP-e literally are. AND they are leaders in pretty imagery and have deceived themselves into thinking their status quo is our last defense. Stuck on stupid and the liberals know these people better than they know themselves.
Their vats of intellect are filled with holes and they have no clue.
