Yeah I saw their website, some of them even want to back Obama. The whole thing is stupid.

It’s probably a plot to nominate someone who would hurt the Republican nominee. I hope it fails.

I think that about 2/3 of Reform Party members are liberal, so Roemer’s campaign might help the republican nominee. Usually, the strongest third-party presidential candidate takes votes from the incumbent party. In 2000, when we had a democrat president, Ralph Nader got almost 3% of the vote, helping Bush win. In 1992, when George H.W. Bush ran for re-election, Perot got 19%, helping Clinton win. In 1976, when Ford ran, two conservatives, the American Independent Party and Libertarian candidates got enough votes to help Carter win.
