Hot Rod Lincoln” by Commando Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen, or is it Commander Cody?

It was “Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen” who did the umpteenth remake in the 70’s. I can’t resource the original right now, but was a true story that actually happened in Washington St

Yeah, I knew it was an old song when their version came out. I liked every single one the 70s version by Commander Cody the best.

I remember the British Invasion band “The Searchers” redid a lot of old songs and they were invariably better than the originals.

Charlie Ryan wrote and recorded the original Hot Rod Lincoln. I have the 45, think it was on the 4 Star label but not sure.
