About 1,000 shoppers that gathered for a shoe release at an Orlando mall late Thursday became out of control, prompting deputies in riot gear to disperse the crowd.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said 200 deputies went to the Florida Mall about 9:45 p.m. because of the crowd, which became unruly after Foot Locker canceled the release of the limited-edition Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy" shoes. The $220 purple and blue sneakers are made from an extra-durable material and glow in the dark.

It costs money for the police to be called to break up this riot, as well as the loss of income and inventory to the merchants at the mall. It would be just if the rioters were compelled to pay back the law enforcement agency and the merchants through enforced contract labor, in other words, the chain gang.

Hey, we live in a town full of retirees...............Waste not, want not!.............
Somebody is going to get a good deal at St Vincent De Paul. I donated two old brand new pairs of Levis yesterday. I found them sealed in a rubbermaid tote at my grandmother’s house where I left them better than 20 years ago.
Brand new and still had the tags on them.
Here’s a thought. Someone needs to use social media and have a nationwide Nike sale election day.
What, didn’t they still fit? ;)
