In an apparent fit of rage against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, liberal New York Times columnist Charles Blow took to Twitter to tell him to "stick that in your magic underwear" for supporting the idea that society ought to concern itself with the large numbers of children born outside of wedlock.
That sentiment apparently set off Blow who tweeted the following at 8:56pm ET on the 22nd: "Let me just tell you this Mitt 'Muddle Mouth': I'm a single parent and my kids are *amazing*! Stick that in your magic underwear."
Judging from a tweet Blow sent earlier in the evening, it seems as if he believed Romney (who was actually echoing remarks made previously by fellow candidate Rick Santorum) was trying to condemn single parents who are racial minorities. That wasn't what Romney was saying at all, of course. Instead, he was saying that when speaking of the life arrangements of children, it is undeniable that those who come from married parent households fare much better than those who come from single parent households and perhaps in light of this fact, society ought to reconsider ways in which it has unwittingly worsened the circumstances of children of single parents.

*snicker*
I shall patiently await Mr Blow’s insult to a Muslim.
And, for once, I’ll applaud the Muzzie’s reaction - should he decide to do a little jihading on Mr Blow’s sorry body.
I despise RINOmney because he is liberal lite...not because of his religion.
As usual. Charles Blow does.
Is it not AMAZING that liberals can say ANYTHING about Christians (and I count Mormons in that group). Anything. The NEW YORK TIMES, the major networks, NPR, all laugh and skoff at Tim Tebow, or anyone with a Christian life orientation.
That they see no inconsistency with their usual philosophy of live and let live is just amazing. Liberals profess to hate haters, but it’s ok to hate Christians.
Just amazing.
So sayeth all single parents.
“...a fit of rage...”?? Over a political candidate commenting on the factual state of our society?
Geez, get a grip you whining little ninny.
I just don’t see how there can ever be any reconciliation between a conservative and liberal.
Reason vs. emotion. Oil and water. Electricity and water.
Well... society -should- be concerned about the number of children raised outside of two-parent families. It’s interesting that this guy (?) interprets that as some kind of personal criticism.
He’ll get away with the underwear comment, due to the double standard for liberals in the media. Shows you, though, just how naturally bigoted the average liberal is. There may be lots of problems with Mormonism, but holding up someone’s beliefs for public ridicule is obnoxious and ugly.
Lol!
Not for nothing but this is one area that Laura Ingraham loses me on.
I am outraged! As an offended Mormon, I demand to know where Mr. Blowhard lives, so I can detonate a bo...
Oh, wait. I’m a Mormon, not a Muslim.
Never mind.
I wonder how much this guy makes a year. Probably a couple of suckers more than a 17 year old high school drop out or a welfare mom.
Christians don't wear special underwear.
I know. There are no normal kids, they’re all amazing, wonderful, superlative.
My kids have very good character, I’m proud of that.
Either “They’re *amazing*!” or “They blow up so fast!”.
I meant to type “duckets” but my stupid phone thought I wanted to say suckers. Must be a gubmit official in this thing.
hard to say anything when you are stoned or beheaded for premarital sex
stick THAT in your burqa!
Interesting.
The media who tries to control us more than any politician ever tried is offended by conservatives’ laudable yet imperfect quest to uphold any moral standards.
THIS, HERE, IS OUR CIVIL WAR.
The “do it if it feels good crowd” which killed a lot of people including Whitney houston, and broke a lot of families and molested a lot of kids, is UPSET at our side for even trying to respect each other.
They worship weaknesses. That is the real meaning of “political correctness.”. It’s all a game of trickery and patronizing malice. Someone who behaves as Whitney Houston did engenders too much respect to be made fun of on the late night shows, but Rick santorum’s behavior, somewhat more upstanding, is fodder for cruel jokes. Well, of the two of them, only he represents a threat to the anything goes population.
They supported Roman Polanski. They respected Whitney, saw her staggering around with the crack pipe, and let her die. Santorum has never been caught with someone else’s wife or in the back of a limo enjoying a crack pipe with a man’s face in his lap. And the candidate who was, still enjoys great popularity with the media debaucher crowd.
