This poll is not surprising after the double team by Ron and Mitt, plus Rick’s debate performance. I expect the margin to widen.

What I’m really wondering is, is there a hope that Newt and Rick could team up? Now that it is pretty obvious that Ron and Mitt have a deal, I don’t see Rick being strong armed into a ticket with Mitt, even if the GOP E may have had that in mind.

I would think that there is too much bad blood on the floor between the two. We need to keep the ticket as conservative as possible.

Newt is by far the superior leader IMHO, but if he and Rick could work together, I think Newt could get enough done in 4 years that he could then step aside and let his VP, Rick, run. In that length of time Rick could learn a lot from Newt and be more ready to lead.

If Mitt and Ron want to play that game, surely we can find a way to out maneuver them.

Would love to see a discussion of this. Thanks!

You always have such a bright sunny outlook!

I don’t see your scenario happening, at least not yet!

After Super Tuesday, we shall see.

It’s all about amassing delegates. NO ROMNEY!!

Rick, misread his surge- and therefore, was not open to cooperative with Newt.

But, if he loses Migh- he will come to understand that he was undone by the Pauls, spectors simpsons, Drudges, Coulters. limbaughs-—and other Romney establishment minions.

At that point, perhaps he will seek an alliance with Newt- and I hope that they would demand Romney step down in favor of a consensus candidate (e.g. Demint)— or else, they should make clear that they will bolt the party.

Personally I believe Rick Santorum would be proud as peaches to be Myth’s VP, and likely prays for it, if he can muster enough delegates to even fall into consideration, which maybe all he is working toward, knowing full well that Romney will have the millions to contend in a general.

Romney NEEDS Santorum to have an enthusiastic conservative prayer for their support.

The VP is ALWAYS based on need, not comraderie, chummyness, or even like mindedness, be it region needed, issue needed, or coalition, or ideology.

Newt must perform in the South for traction and will need to pivot for the North, finding a blue collar winner for the NE. Maybe Ryan, the numbers man. Heck, maybe Romney the Socialist numbers man. Who can possibly know?

Or maybe Jeb Bush will come in soon and FIX everything on earth. /s /s /s

Ditto cj.

Team Newt and Santorum!

They both need each other.

Smack down Mittens and his other brother, Mittens.

Well, I’ll be glad to discuss it with you. I think that Newt will pick a minority running mate, and, I’m pretty sure that he and Herman Cain have made a deal to team up as running mates. That would be good. But..........

We really need Marco Rubio on the Ticket. The Hispanic vote is huge and whomever wins Florida, will occupy the White House. The 3 Key State to Presidential victory, historically, are Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. Whoever wins two of those three, ALWAYS wins the Election. How about Santorum (PA) and Rubio (FL) for a Ticket?
