“Environmental protection and the connection between fighting poverty ****and fighting climate change**** are important areas”

Yes,, the Pope DID say that fighting climate change is important. Ergo,, on that topic, he was a moron. I assume that a man of his position cannot claim ignorance of the facts of the global warming scam. So with good data,, he makes a claim worthy of a moron, or a despot.

As for being looking for a reason to disagree with him, i clearly stated that he carries his infallability in some areas, not in others, and asked catholics for opinions as to their opinion in this case as to which this might be.

Grow up. Not everything is an attack. But i will happily and enthusiastically call ANYONE a moron who says that “fighting climate change” is critical, a Christian duty, or a moral imperative. Just as i would someone who said we should prepare for the return of planet-X, the 2012 thing, etc,,,.
With his position comes great responsibility not to take such a wrong-headed position, even in matters that lie outside his zone of infallible matters.

You need to check your attitude dude. All that anger isn't healthy. Try re-reading the quote. And then doing some research. The Pope spoke about "climate change," not "global warming." Climate Change, of one variety or another is a scientific fact. It started when the planet solidified, and it will continue until the sun finally ungulfs us. "Man made global warming," on the other hand, is an uproven scientific theory that is based in part on climate change.

For the record, the Vatican has not signed the Kyoto treaty, and takes no official position on the cause of climate change. It merely reasserts the position that man has been given stewardship of this planet and is therefore responsible for enviornmental protection. Liberal publications that normally do everything they can to discredit the Church have attempted twist the Pope's statements to support their own political position. You need to be very clear about this: If the Pope thought it was a Christian obligation to fight global warming, he would say EXACTLY that. He didn't. Listen to some of what he has had to say as Pope for his predecessor about abortion. No ambiguity there. Popes choose every word that comes out of their mouths very carefully.

You are letting NYT, Chris Matthews, and global warming cronies everywhere mess with your head. You should be ashamed of yourself.
