Mitt Romney Won't Stop Talking About Michigan Trees
Reuters ^ | 2/25/12 | Brent Lang

The Republican presidential aspirant was at it again on Friday, praising the greenery of his birth state in advance of next week's primary.

"This feels good, being back in Michigan,” Romney said during a speech in Detroit. “The trees are the right height. The streets are just right.”

The latest bout of rhapsodizing almost perfectly echoes Romney’s earlier comments about the size of the Great Lake state’s timber earlier this week.

“Maybe so, but five articles in a row about him ain’t normal either.”

You’d think the media would be glad Romney’s a tree hugger!

Did you REALLY mean to say this?

Well, MADAM Romneybot, you are, by definition a Romneybot. You are a Romney supporter and possibly firmly in the Obama camp by stating, “My goal is to get Obama elected.” Possibly a typo but your out-and-out support of Romney is evident from your posting history. I am surprised you have lasted this long on this site.

There is just never a kitty around when you need one.

“Now that Rick is out, I’ve made the decision to support Romney.”

Regarding Romney in Florida:
“Never thought as a loyal long time member of FR who has never voted D for president that I would be called stupid for supporting one GOP primary candidate over another.”

Supporting Romney’s statements:
• To utter the words... I don’t care about the poor...
He didn’t utter those words. He said:
“I’m not concerned about the very poor…

I liked Mitt Romney a lot better when he was honest enough to admit that he wasn’t a Republican. When you flip-flop this much, you’re bound to land on the truth once-in-a-while, even if by accident.

My goal is to get Obama elected.

Was that a Freudian slip? Like Obama mentioning "My Muslim faith"?

I grew up in OH in the burbs with some pretty reasonable sized trees and a communal hatred of MI football (and of Woody’s lack of ability to delivery).

I suspect that being reasonably well to do that the Romney clan probably vacationed to the prettier sections of MI - seems reasonable but I have no facts to back it up. I’m sure there was a terrified pooch strapped to the car.

While I voted for him and am supporting him donation-wise, it’s very hard for me to think of Mitt having any part of a concrete jungle. In the board room - I can see it. On the street corner - just not able to get there.

I grew up near Roscommon. Those are trees. Go north to Hartwick Pines, and those are BIG trees. To me, the suburbs are almost like the cities. Yes, there's some trees, but few forests.

I don't like UM football either. I went to MSU.

I disagree unless your definition of Romneybot is anyone who feels he has the best chance of beating Obama based on their own reasons. My first choice was Rick Perry not Mitt Romney.

I am willing to support any GOP candidate against Obama in the end, are you? If Mr. Robinson doesn't want me on this forum because I have picked one that I feel has a better chance to succeed in ousting Obama, then he can evict me and my long time monthly contribution. Meanwhile I won't let you and childish name calling run me off.

As you can see, I haven't been all that passionate about Romney either...I am more concerned that this great forum is going to implod from all the nastiness.....
