JOIN THE FIGHT! VFW Says Pay And Benefit Changes Will End All-Volunteer Military

The DOD budget unveiled February 13 recommends 1.7 percent military pay raises for 2013 and 2014, followed by a scant 0.5 percent increase in 2015, and 1 percent in 2016. Also announced were plans to almost quadruple Tricare Prime enrollment fees for some working age military retirees, impose Tricare for Life enrollment fees on those older than 65, and introduce enrollment fees and increased deductibles on Tricare Standard and Extra users. Included in DOD’s healthcare revenue plan are increased pharmaceutical copayments for retirees as well as military dependents.

DOD also recommends reducing the size of the active force by more than 100,000 troops over the next five years—mostly soldiers and Marines—through attrition, a reduction in force, mandatory retirements and high year of tenure separations, among others

Really. FAR LESS than the pols in DC. Go after them first.
As to not retiring at after 20 years? Go through what many of them do - whch will guarantee you nightmares for life (if you’re lucky, that’s the worst) - and moving, uprooting family every 3 years and no choice as to where you go.

I would think that cutting the military by 100,000 personnel would save enough so as not to cut military pay any further. But saving money is not the real goal. Destroying our military is. Are you wearing blinders or???

I humbly suggest, since you’re so concerned about our tax money - you start at a few other places that our military...get those cut down to size and get back to us.

The nation’s defense is one of the few legitimate Constitutional jobs of the federal government. Just what we spend on Nancy Pelosi’s free flights for her family and in-flight booze would go a long way for some military families...

I feel like the government is the group that looks at the budget for a family that lives on peanut butter sandwiches and forces them to pay for caviar, champagne and hot tubs for the rich cockroaches in Congress.

Remember the story that the prophet Nathan told King David when confronting him about seducing Bathsheba and then killing her husband? It was a story about a man who had one lone pet sheep that he loved as a child, and the rich neighbor having a guest who came but didn’t want to kill any of his own flock so he went and took the neighbor’s pet sheep and killed it to serve his guest. David was incensed to hear about how that precious sheep had been stolen and killed by someone to whom it was mere piddles. King David said that man should surely die. And Nathan told David, “You are the man.”

The US government is that man. I despise them. All of them.

The Marxists running America today want a return to a military draft. They are doing all they can to discourage volunteer enlistment so that they can create justification for re-instituting the draft.

Along with the draft, they will use the same justification for mandatory service in a "civilian" service corp, the justification of which will be further supported by the numbers to young people who will file for conscientious objection. "Okay, don't want to serve in a military force, here is your alternative form of service . . . mandatory."

This will all be supported by the radical feminists who will insist on the conscription of females along with males. The purpose for this where the Marxists are concerned is to further destroy the family, get women out of their homes (especially aiming at traditional Christian families which still teach honor for home-oriented wives and mothers ; women who find their fulfilment in the home raising children).

Marxists like Obama's ilk must do all they can to make the federal government (soon to be a "national" government rather than federal because states rights are disappearing) our father and mother, uncle and aunt.

The US government is that man. I despise them. All of them.

Which is way we need Newt - he is not one of them and he knows who and what they are. He has said he will keep even ONE holdover. He will have no foxes in the hen house. It will be a clean sweep - and break the back of the Shadow Gov't that controls both houses.

This is why they fear him so. WE must pray for him - bucking this group is what got JFK killed. He wouldn't play ball. He saw them for what they are.

In his time, it was the demRats - since then, then have infiltrated the R Establishment as well. They all have to go.

Newt is the only one who can break them up. But he has a big bulls-eye on his back. I'[m sure he knows it.

Meanwhile, they are trying to cut military pay and insurance again and increase their payment and retirement time. Meanwhile, they have the best insurance plans going and have rendered themselves exempt from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms.

Then, when he froze Social Security for 3 yrs, he tried to also freeze military pay for 3 yrs...that went over like a lead balloon, so he gave them the smallest increase since Korea. And all this in a time of war.
