Several years ago my wife and I attended a Grandparents' Day at a grandson's kindergarten. The kids were given Legos to make things. My grandson knows I flew in the Navy, so to honor me he made a 5-year-old's idea of a Navy airplane. He then explained the various features, and when he got to "and this is the gun," the kid next to him jumped up, screamed, "Guns are not allowed!" and then ran to tell a teacher. This was in Massachusetts, of course. Nothing more happened but my wife and I were startled by the vicious anti-freedom and anti-military atmosphere shown in this school. That MA issues LTCs is still a minor miracle, and proof that citizen involvement can make a difference. In 1978, Liberals forced a measure on the ballot to ban all handguns in the state.
