Media Matters for America took a big hit to its credibility when Tucker Carlson and the Daily Caller ran a multiple-installment exposé of the political non-profit, which laid bare the groups hypocrisy on gun control and, more problematically, their close coordination with the Obama White House. MMFA has managed to find itself in another bruising political battle, this time with Alan Dershowitz, a man normally inclined to support the Left. Dershowitz has pledged to personally make Media Matters an issue in the election by actively campaigning against anyone supporting the group:
Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, a leading Democratic lawyer who takes a hawkish line on Israel, has declared a personal war on the liberal group Media Matters, which has branched out into sharp criticism of Israel.
Not only will [the Media Matters controversy] be an election matter, I will personally make it an election matter, Dershowitz, a professor at Harvard Law School, told WABCs Aaron Klein today.
Dershowitz has been sharply criticizing Media Matters for weeks, but suggested for the first time today he intends to drive the controversy into the political conversation.
I dont know whether President Obama has any idea that Media Matters has turned the corner against Israel in this way, he said. I can tell you this, he will know very shortly because I am beginning a serious campaign on this issue and I will not let it drop until and unless [writer and activist MJ] Rosenberg is fired from Media Matters, or Media Matters changes its policy or the White House disassociates itself from Media Matters.
True to his word, Dershowitz takes his personal battle to the pages of the New York Daily News today, and minces no words:
Its the kind of virulent hate speech

God bless Alan for his courage.
I welcome Dershowitz to the fight. I encourage him to brace himself as he moves the MMFA rug. He is going to find a lot of anti-Israel leftist roaches. Has he not seen half the Occupy protests around the country?
This is one of those rare moments when agreeing with Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz isn’t a bad thing.
Maybe you missed what I had to say in the thread about his seemingly impressive Friends Seminary article?
I dont know whether President Obama has any idea that Media Matters has turned the corner against Israel in this way,
Proud of you Alan, but do you think Obama gives a rat’s a*s? See how he treats Bibi next visit.
Providing new fodder in the age-old sport of lawyer jokes!
MediaMatters is so ultra-left, even a Harvard lawyer is offended by it!
Strange days when I start rooting for Alan. I always think ACLU whenever I hear his name. Good luck Alan. Nice to know there are some of the left that still care about Israel’s safety.
I have a hard time getting past the fact that he was part of Orenthal’s team....just like with “Legal Zoom” and Robert Schmuckpiro.
Who will ever know?
Media Matters not only is cooperating with Obama, it also gives direction to left wing media. It would get any more coverage than Fast and Furious.
Media Matters also is funded by George Soros. Soros also fund Obama.
I wouldn’t trust Alan Dershowitz. He wanted Bob Grant fired in 1996.
Dershowitz was interviewed February 14 by Boston talker Jay Severin [space in to about 5:49].
Rosenberg - aside from being an anti-semite - is an idiot. Israel is the ONLY democracy in the ME - the ONLY friend of the United States. For one thing, Israel doesn't execute Americans... they don't riot and kill if one of their books is burned... and they DO contribute to the betterment of the world - in medicine, technology, and philosophy. We stand with them because they're worthy of our friendship.
Alan Dershowitz is right on this issue.
If some southern Country singer put out a song calling for the killing of liberal commentators I’m sure Homeland Security wouldn’t look into it - and the New York Times wouldn’t cover it, and the Washington Post would give it a ‘pass’. It would just be posted here ... /s
eff the MSM
That's not racism. It's a political opinion.
Hey, Alan, you useful idiot, BO turned that same corner a long time ago. Wake up and smell the sulpher.
if it supresses the Jewish vote for Obama I say GO ALAN GO!
Alan Dershowitz has always been a symbol of the politically active, liberal law professor. Then I watched a round-table with him and a bunch of other law professors, and realized that in that setting, he was the most moderate and rational. It shows how bad the usual law profession has become.
Alan Dershowitz is a very intelligent chap, and if he is awakening, good for him. I entirely agree with his position on this issue.
