Romney won this state handily 4 years ago. This is hardly a win for Romney. This was his home state for gosh sake. He should have had a cake walk tonight in Michigan.
Arizona is “winner-take-all”; Michigan delegates are awarded proportionately.
Santorum will do just fine with Roman Catholics in Pennsylvania and Ohio, as well as Oklahoma and Texas where it is the majority religion in those states. The fact he doesn’t do well with Californians, New Yorkers or Vermonters who call themselves Catholic has to do with lack of belief. Keep in mind, Andrew Cuomo, who awakens every morning next to his whore in the is supposedly counted as a Roman Catholic.
I’m Catholic and I like Santorum. I also like Gingrich, but their religion has nothing to do with it.
If we could go toe-to-toe with Romney in negative ads, he’d be eating the crap sandwich he so richly deserves.

Yes, but there is a better scenario: If either Newt or Rick would bow out gracefully, NOW, Romney would NOT win another Primary. Together, they always poll more than RINO-Rom. But, they keep dividing the vote and Romney keeps winning by a plurality. It is what it is.
That’s exactly right. Catholics that are liberals are liberals first. Excellent point made. And it isn’t over by a long shot yet.
It's getting really out of hand, especially with Santorum... Newt has spent his life developing and enhancing and expressing his ideas and solutions, and to the other two, they are just talking points... It really is unseemly, especially for the principled, moral Christian candidate...
But the guy talking about the issues is unelectable. Period.
The religion of the voters is a strong determinate of how they vote.
Santorum seems to always lose the Catholic voter, even when he was removed as a Pennsylvania Senator he won the White Evangelical voter by 71% and only won 42% of the White Catholics, he won the Evangelical vote in Arizona also it looks like.
I know that women don’t like him, but I cannot figure out why Catholics vote against him, do you have any ideas?
Newt (and Paul) didn’t even campaign in MI. Face the facts your little Ricky can’t close the deal with the voters. The only thing he has won so far are 3 states were Newt didn’t compete and in which he got no committed delegates and a caucus state where only about 10% of the GOP voters even vote. He pleaded in robocalls for Democrats to crossover and vote for him to defeat Romney and it wasn’t enough. He lost Catholics in both states for G*d sakes. Get used to the sight of Saint Rick going down to defeat. I expect that the more people learn about Santorum the less they will like him. The people aren’t choosing a parish priest they are picking a presidential nominee and they have figured out that Ricky ain’t it. Hopefully after ST it will be Newt and Mitt one on one.
As long as too many on our side arent interested in serious issues instead of trying to vote for their own version of Romney, you will get unelectable in the fall.

Santorum’s makes Catholics feel guilty. The majority of Catholics we know are pro choice, pro chemical contraception, and pro stuff.

Because he reminds them of the self important head altar boy and teacher’s pet they had to deal with when the were in St. Whatever elementary school. I spent 8 years in Catholic school and had to deal with a lot of Rick Santorums over those 8 years. Every time he starts on one of his little “I am a better person than you” rants it makes me, to use Ricks’s words” want to vomit.
True and other than Iowa he got no committed delegates from any of his big wins. Wow I’m impressed.

You can hope all you want but this is a 2-man race and Gingrich can continue to play the role of spoiler. We saw how Ross Perot ended up giving us the Clintons. Santorum appeals to the blue-collar vote or the Reagan-Democrats which is a crucial voting bloc to regain the rust-belt states. He is leading in OH and PA and was leading in MI and scored a trifecta. When Romney won NH with mainly Democratic and Independent votes, no one complained.

Seems like a fair estimate to me. Romney likely actually won about 41 to 32.
