Oh, you may be correct. The battle between Shi’a and Sunni is old. With all those AQ that were released for ‘good behavior,’ however, I am not convinced. SA pays its unemployed young, and there are a lot of them. SA is also putting together entire universities out of whole cloth.
Remember, we left the Air Base when SA asked. Don’t remember the name off-hand, but this was after 9/11, just what Bin Laden asked for.
Hence the larger problem. How do you convince Saudi youth to become the miners, truck drivers, construction workers, etc. that they now look down on. I have not doubt once the oil runs out it will be a mess over there. I am not sure it is any time soon. Of course, once the oil runs out it will likely revert to the status of Jordan or Yemen...curious but not really important.
