Just out of curiosity, which gender are you? Are you a Brit or an American ex-pat over there?
One of the things I really miss about working in Japan is the endless parade of people which I worked with from all over the world. Because I'm not the type who is easily offended (or at least doesn't show it), I got a real education on mindsets all over the globe as opposed to the American or Japanese way of doing things. Discounting these two (of whom I am a product and therefore probably a somewhat biased observer), I enjoyed the Brits second only to the Singaporeans.

I do love the constant interaction with completely different cultures. Got hooked on that back in the army days and made sure to continue it ever since. It adds a lot of interest to life.
