An Alabama campaign event for Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has moved to a new location to accommodate a bigger audience.
Gingrich, seeking the GOP nomination, announced last week he would speak at the Ritz Theater in Talladega on March 7. But an official with his Alabama campaign said the event will be shifted to Pell City "to allow for a larger venue and a more direct route to Birmingham."
"We determined the seating capacity was far short of what we needed," said Steve Dean, Talledega County campaign chairman for Gingrich.
Gingrich, a Georgia native and former U.S. Speaker of the House, is battling Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum for the GOP presidential nomination. The Alabama primary is scheduled for March 13.
